WILMINGTON MA - AMETEK Aerospace & Defense has completed development of its new Turbo-Mass Fuel Flow Meter and begun customer shipments. Two major jet manufacturers currently are evaluating various configurations for their business jet programs, while several helicopter operators have slated it for retrofit applications.
"Our new Turbo-Mass flow meter incorporates solid-state electronics and a reliable turbine flow meter design, making it the lightest, smallest flow meter in its class," states Wes Hardin, Senior Vice President and General Manager of AMETEK Aerospace & Defense.
"Designed specifically for the light business jet and helicopter markets, the new Turbo-Mass provides unmatched fuel flow measurement for turbine engines in the 50pph to 3000pph flow range with predictable turbine rotation at even the lowest start-up flow rates," notes Mr. Hardin. "OEM manufacturers and system integrators are able to simultaneously monitor both mass (pph) and volumetric (gph) fuel flow rates along with fuel temperature. In addition, the Turbo-Mass flow meter simplifies retrofit installations by readily enabling glass cockpit upgrades for older aircraft using any one of its multiple electronic interfaces."
AMETEK has manufactured highly precise and dependable fuel flow meters for more than 50 years, offering an unmatched product line that extends from the lightest jet engines to massive flow meters for aerial refueling applications.
